Water Polo team victory

The Taft Wildcat Water Polo Boys hit a new “watermark” this last weekend. They won their first trophy!

In the Lemoore JV Tournament, this startup team is showing promise. Winning their last two games (against Mission Oak & Dinuba), the Cats secured their position as the 1st place winners in the Bronze Division. Debut performances by Presley Golling at Point, Kaleb Hillan at Hole Set, Jake Johnson & Kade Bravo at Left Wing, Sergio Gomez & Zane Martin & Dominic Krier at Right Wing, Nate Martinez & Kaden Hielscher & Korbin Hillan at Right Flat…all showing great skill for their first time in competitive play. Returning from last year, Ryan Hickernell showed a commanding role at Hole Set, while Seth Taylor brought his signature flair to the Goalie cage. Paul Pitts and Sergio Gomez also spent time defending the cage as well.

For the tournament, Kaleb Hillan showed a monster performance as top scorer, nailing 20 clean goals over the course of the two-day tournament. He was aided 7 times (at least) by Presley Golling in this feat. Presley Golling had a 4 time goal tally for the tourney. Seth Taylor hammered in 5 goals for the weekend. Paul Pitts scored 3 times for the Cats, while Zane Martin, Jake Johnson, Sergio Gomez, & Kaden Hielscher scored a goal each for the weekend.

Final Tally:

8/25 Clovis West vs Taft (17-2), Loss

8/26 Mission Oak vs Taft (0-5), WIN

8/26 Dinuba vs Taft (8-11), WIN
