Link Crew Made Its Debut
This year, a group of about 40 juniors and seniors have been chosen to welcome the incoming freshman of TUHS.
It started out with an intense three-day teacher training over in Temecula, CA followed with two days of student training here at the school. Link Crew was in charge of building a positive relationship between the upper and lower classman. To do that they had a rally just for freshman, which included specialized activities to build trust and to create new friendships. They were then given a presentation on the different types of people at school and a tour of the campus. Freshman Cadence Russell said, “It helped me feel confident about starting high school!”
Link Crew gave students who aren’t typically outgoing a chance to prove that anyone can be a leader. For the future, the group hopes to incorporate or acknowledge the foreign exchange students so that they too can feel welcomed. We can expect more activities from the Link Crew as the year goes on!
