Joshua Tofte motivates his students for another year

Tofte smiles his way through another year at Taft High.

Joshua Tofte is a graduate of Taft High; he grew up here in Taft then decided to go to CSUB for about 6 years and transferred to get his master’s degree at National University. Tofte has been teaching as a part of the TUHS family for 13 years. He teaches Geometry, and this is the only campus he has taught at. He said that he, “…enjoys the part of the campus where people are coming and going.” The thing he finds most frustrating about teaching is when the kids don’t listen, but he still does his best to motivate them. He wants to make sure to, “…show them I care.” His favorite subject in high school was math, which led him to becoming a Geometry teacher. He also coaches frosh/soph baseball for Taft High.
