On Dec. 3, Taft had its annual Christmas Parade. The judges of the parade gave away awards to 10 different people. There were three categories and three different places the contestants can receive. The first category was floats. Taft Union High FFA came in first, Creative Kids campus came in second, and Taft Union High ASB came in third. The next category was Auto. Taft City School District came in first, West Kern Oil Museum took second, and West Kern Adult Education network placed third. The third category was animals, from first place to third place was Rogelio Hernandez, Valley Acres 4-H, and Franklin Field Horseman’s Association. And the last category was Drill/Cheer. The only contestant was Lincoln Junior High. They received first place.
