Wildcats bring retro back

Freshmen won third place. They brought the movie, “The Best of Times,” to life with a short skit from the movie.

Taft High floats were presented before the varsity game on Oct. 5. The freshmen class created their float based on the locally famous movie, The Best of Times, but with a twist. They gave us a short skit for the ending of The Best of Times with Reno Hightower and Jack Dundee going against the McFarland Cougars. The sophomore class brought back 90s shows. They performed a dance to the theme song of hit 90s shows like “Saved by the Bell,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” and “Friends.” The Juniors took it back to the 50s with The Cats’ Diner. They danced to “Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’” from Disney’s “Teen Beach Movie.” Finally, we had the senior class kicking it in the 70s. They grooved to the beat of “Saturday Night Fever.” Our first place winner was the sophomore class followed by the seniors, freshmen, and lastly the junior class. Overall, the floats came out amazing and each class represented their floats with pride. Peace and Love Taft High!
