Taft High has hired over 10 new teachers for the start of this new year. Evan Hunt is one of many. The Gusher staff plans to continue to introduce a new teacher every week

This week, we are featuring Evan Hunt. Evan Hunt is a math teacher at Taft High. He is teaching Algebra Readiness and Algebra 1. Before Hunt started teaching at Taft High he taught one year of Math at Bakersfield High School. Even though Hunt’s favorite subject is Calculus, he never got the opportunity to teach it so, instead, he went to college at CSUB and became an algebra teacher. We also asked what Hunt’s favorite subject was in High School, and he said, “Spanish was definitely my favorite subject in high school.” We also asked Hunt about his favorite thing at Taft High and what it’s like working with the staff and students, he said, “My favorite thing about the campus is my room had two coolers and the staff and students are very friendly. I am comfortable here.” Overall, Evan Hunt he seems to be happy with his work conditions and atmosphere around him.
