In the season opener for our varsity football team, Taft took a big win over Kern Valley 49-6. Then, the following week, Taft hosted California City and scored another win 54-36. You may wonder what the difference is between last season, going 2-7 overall, to start the 2018-19 season 2-0. Having an athlete on your team who wins Offensive Player Of The Week for week number two in the season may be part of the reason why the Wildcats had so much success early on.

Running back Bryson Bullard worked hard all summer to be able to play in the first scrimmage of the year. On Bryson’s lone carry of the night, he went untouched for a blistering 60-yard touchdown run. Coach Falgout had this to say about Bullard, “It’s been fun watching him develop as a football player; he does what he can to get better every day and always does what he’s asked by the coaches.”
