The last two Wednesdays before finals week the choir has been hard at work. Dec. 7 was the first time in a long time since the choir has sung their winter concert without the presence of the band. This allows for more solos between the beginning choir and Chamber Choir. It was the second performance of the year and Miss Locke says that more are to be expected in the Spring. The night kicked off with the beginning choir performing “The Little Drummer Boy”, “Winter Lullaby”, and “Feliz Navidad”. Soloists of the night were, “All I Want for Christmas is You” sung by Harmony Hartzell, the piano piece “Mary Did You Know” by Hannah Covington, and Kailee Barker singing “O, Holy Night”.

A special debut was made by the Jazz singers who practiced during their own time at lunch for, “Carol of the Bells”. Chamber singers performed “And Sweet Singing in the Choir”, “A La Nanita Nana”, and “Let it Snow”. The finale was a “Holiday Sing-Along” with all the choir singers and the audience. Dec. 13 the Chamber Singers sang Swedish song, “Sanktea Lucia”. The was at the Taft Fort for a Rotary dinner. Students were excited for this as they got to dress up in a festive costume and perform by candlelight.
