Saturday, Nov. 11, Taft High band members had their last competition of the marching season. Students arrived in Bakersfield, CA at Stockdale High School around 1:30 p.m. and they quickly began to put their set together in anticipation of their last show. Taft competed against four other schools in their division and ended up with first place in band, third in percussion, and third in auxiliary. Seniors were especially excited for their win as it was the perfect way to end their last time on the field. Senior Jessica Moseley said, “Winning my last competition was bitter sweet. It showed how hard we worked this year and how well we worked together. I enjoyed every minute of it.” By 9:15 p.m., awards were announced and students headed home, happy and proud of all the hardwork they left on that field. The band will now start to work on their performance for concert season.
