Corey Morgan tried to take down the boxes in the Angry Birds 3D game.

Students were welcomed into the Mullen gym by varsity and JV cheerleaders for the Homecoming rally. Student danced their way to their class sections. Jacob Gonzales got the students cheering and eager for the rally to begin. Our very own Taft high choir began the rally with the National Anthem, which was followed with a performance from the JV cheerleaders. After this performance, the choir lead the Taft High students in the Alma Mater, and the school sang in unison. The students seemed ready for the rest of the rally, and for a game.

ASB picked one student from the student sections; they battled in the game “Just Dance”. The students competed for the crown. Every class seemed to cheer on their classmates and encouraged them throughout the battle. The sophomore class got the crown, with juniors in second, freshmen in third, and seniors in fourth. After everyone caught their breath, Mr.VanRoekle introduced the JV football team and gave a speech saying that, “He wouldn’t go into battle with any other team.” The Varsity team was then introduced one-by-one by Coach G. The team had a break and walked back to their seats.

ASB set up many games for students to participate in. One freshman, one sophomore, one junior, and one senior were picked to play “Angry Birds 3D”. The sophomore student was the only player able gain any points. Bonus points were gained by hitting teachers. Another set of students were chosen to play a game where the goal was to grab the video game cover of the theme song that was being played. The seniors ended up retrieving the game cover before the juniors, and won the game. That was the last game of the rally. As always, the rally concluded with every class chanting the Wildcat spellout.
