Taft High’s ASB and Class Officers Take the Lead

The ASB officers look forward to making the year of 2017-2018 an exciting and fun year for all. This year’s freshman class members were interviewed by the ASB officers, the freshman class advisors, and April Conners. The upcoming freshmen also had to have a positive recommendation from teachers of their previous school. The rest of the ASB class officers had to be elected last year. The elections always take place at the end of the school year of for the following  years officers.

The freshman class president, Brook Ashmore, discussed the goals for this year, “My goal for the year is to get more freshmen involved in sports, clubs, and school activities.” She also runs freshmen class meetings and helps to create activities that can make their first year of high school fun and memorable.

Junior class president, Kennedy Wilson, was elected last year by the student body. He is in charge of meeting and organizing class meetings and persuading students attend. The junior class is in charge of Prom. Kennedy’s goal for the year is, “to make an awesome Prom.” Any questions about events can be answered by him and other officers.

The ASB treasurer, Regan Barnachia, helps keep track of the money. “I’m basically an accountant”

The ASB supports all sports and activities, maintains responsibility for pep rallies, and tries to make the school year fun.
