Taft High student Sawyer Maier and choir/piano teacher Amanda Locke are taking part in the production of Hello Dolly at Stars Theatre in Bakersfield, CA. It is directed by Bruce Saathoff and show dates will be as follows: September 29, 30 and October 1, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, & 21. Locke will be playing Irene Mallory and Maier will be part of the ensemble. Locke says, “I really love the music for this show, and to get to share that with a live audience is always a blast.” This is not her first time in a show, but a first for having a lead role. Maier, too, has been in his fair share of performances. He is no longer nervous and is excited for the rest of the performances.

Join them as the play follows widow, Dolly Levi, while she plays matchmaker for her love-seeking “clients”. Get out to Bakersfield to see what else happens!
