Foreign Exchange Wildcats
This year, Taft High was lucky enough to welcome four new students to our country and Wildcat family. Saskia Haag, Benny Borger, Hung Shen Chen, and Angelica Lindestad all came from their home countries to enjoy an entire year of their high school experience in America.
During their first night in America, these four students got to experience New York, where German student Benny Borger admitted, “I know that everyone in New York is known as rude, but compared to people in Germany, they were really nice.” In Germany, Borger said he enjoyed playing rugby and being with his friends. Borger is looking forward to learn more about the history of Taft High and plans on joining as many events as he can. Angelica Lindestad, from Norway, spoke highly of her host family and said, “Spending time with them is the best part–they keep me laughing.”
Lindestad worked at a grocery store back in Norway and has been dancing for eleven years, which is why she took a TUHS new dance class this year. Saskia Haag from Germany and Hung Shen from Taiwan both admitted that the heat here is their least favorite part but that they plan on taking in the full experience of Taft, California.
