Girls Golf Earns 2nd Place

The TUHS Girls Golf Team scored another 2nd place finish in SSL League Match #3 at North Kern Golf Course.  Our girls came in 25 strokes behind BCHS, who are now tied with us for first place in overall league standings.  Sierra Pilgrim continues to lead the Wildcats with solid play, and is hammering the ball off the tee.  We’re working on becoming more efficient on and around the greens which will get her in the low 40s in no time.  Freshman Macayla Wells is a natural talent who’s putting in some serious work to improve.  She’s on the verge of a major breakthrough.  Isabella, Daisy and Jaye continue to get better and give us depth as a team.  And freshman Skyla Jensen played an outstanding first round of competitive golf for the Wildcats.
Medalist for the match was Madi Daniel from BCHS, who fired a 4-under 32 on the par 36 front nine.  Ms. Daniel is not only an incredibly talented golfer, but a fantastic and gracious young lady who is a pleasure to be around.  She’s headed to the PAC-12 next year as an Oregon Duck, where she’ll undoubtedly thrive and become a contributor to one of the top college golf programs in the country.  Our own Sierra Pilgrim has had the chance to play nearly every league match with Madi over the last few seasons, and they’ve struck up a great friendship on and off the course. It has been a wonderful opportunity for Sierra to play so much golf with such a great player, and it has helped her game immensely.
