The Taft Wildcats varsity baseball team won Wednesday’s away game against rival school Arvin by a score of 8-3. Jacob Ellis had three runs, Jackson Van Roekel had two runs following Jackson Berry, Logun Clark and Kyler Miles who all scored one run, making the score 8-3. Corbin Yaws pitched six innings with striking five out; he had good command over his curveball. Jackson Van Roekel came in and pitched in the seventh inning by striking out the first two people up to bat. Unfortunately, Wasco beat Shafter, so they won SSL outright. The rankings come out this Saturday, so the boys will find out who they are going to be playing against in playoffs.
