The boys golf team played their first game at Buena Vista Golf Course on March 7, 2019 and took first place. Before the game, the boys practiced their chipping, putting, and driving/irons on the driving range. Senior returner, Dawson Lopez gave a first-time golfer, Bronson Ortlieb, some advice before his first match, “I told Bronson that he needs to just go out and not worry about looking good or bad in front of the other teams. That he needs to just stay focused on playing the best he can. I also just explained that he needs to switch his scorecard with someone else who is in his group and to make friends.”

This year, the team consists of 4 returners: Dawson Lopez, Spencer Cole, Michael Van Zee, and Julian Johnson, with 8 new golfers. “Without BCHS in the league this year, we are looking forward to battling it out with Wasco and Shafter for a League title. Also, hoping to get a Wildcat golfer to earn the S.S.L. Golfer of the Year award (Best golfer in the league),” Coach Michael Goodwin commented.
