On Friday March 1st, the varsity baseball boys took the win against CVC. Davis stated when asked about the competition, “Very good team; it’s going to be a big test,” and he was correct. Jackson Van Roekel, a senior on the team is at the top of the line up. Van Roekel was, “excited to beat them at their home on Friday.” When he got up to bat, the other team walked him three times. While fielding, he was playing 1st base and he did, “pretty well.”

Skyler Self  is second on the line up but plays third basemen, has a .524 batting average, which is the best on the team so far. Self went 2-2 with two RBI’s, threw a kid out at home plate. Self expressed that “excited about this years team, we might have a chance at winning valley.”

Corbin Yaws plays first base and pitches. During the CVC game, Yaws threw 5 ⅓ innings against the Cavillers. Yaws gave up two hits and only one run, his pitching average is 2.47. Logun Clark is the clean-up hitter for the team; he plays catcher and was, “excited to get the game started.” His stats for hitting are .481. Chad Berry plays second base, right field and sometimes pitches. C. Berry said he, “had no emotion for the game, was pumped.” During the game itself, Chad Berry had one error and went 2-4 while batting. Jackson Berry is a freshman and he was, “happy because we were playing better as a team.” Berry’s fielding was good and his hitting was all right; his stats for this year are .188 hitting average and on base average is nine he has stolen five bases. The boys are all excited to see what the rest of the year has to bring for them.
