Midfielder Marvin Gama steps to their player to stop the fast break. The defense didn’t allow a single goal to be scored on them that night.

The Taft Union varsity soccer team continues in playoffs after two very close games that resulted in losses. They played Wasco February 4 at home and lost 1-2 with Wasco scoring the winning goal in the very last couple of minutes. They played Arvin the very next day away and also unfortunately lost 1-2 against them. That would put an end to their league games, and the beginning of playoffs. They advanced to the second round after beating Caruthers 2-0. The first goal was scored early in the first half after Jordan Miranda took a free kick from almost half field. The second goal followed shortly after with Oscar Arellano ran past their defenders and put the ball in the goal. Their next game will be an away game against Mendota on Feb. 15 at 6:00 p.m.
