Taft played Arvin on Jan. 15, 2019 and won with a score of 58-55. It was one of the most physical games the girls have played this season but they were able to fight through it and put 84 points on the board. Each quarter, the Wildcats were able to outscore the Arvin bears. During the first quarter, the Wildcats put up 19 points while the bears put up 7 points. Each quarter, the team’s overall quarter points went up. The girls were having a great shooting day and ended up going into overtime with the Arvin Bears. They ended up going into two overtime games because both teams were refusing to lose this league game but, in the end, the Wildcats came out with the victory. The girls have been working hard and leaving it all on the court.

The Kennedy game was no different. They came back home with another win. The game ended up being 43-31 and the Wildcats celebrated this win by continuing to work hard and get ready for Shafter. Bree Johansen was the top scorer for the Kennedy game and had a total of 15 points. The girls had a great week and will continue to work for their wins next week. Go support your varsity Wildcats.
