Varsity girls basketball take a trophy over the break

The lady Wildcats had a very busy winter break. They played hard throughout the tournament and came up with the second place trophy at the end of the tournament.

Reagan Hamilton received an award for being an outstanding player during the tournament. On the Dec. 27, the team traveled to Golden Valley and played two games. The team took two wins that day: West and Eastside. They played Eastside first and won 40 – 35; they played West next and won 46- 43. The girls played well together for the entire tournament.

The girls have become used to having low numbers in players and have found a way to make it work. The next day, they traveled to Mira Monte and played Highland. This was another win for the lady ‘Cats; the final score was 42-40. For the very last day of the tournament, they traveled to Arvin and played Tehachapi. This was the first loss for the girls and, instead of letting it bring them down, the girls worked harder and were ready to play their next opponents.
