Cheer enters competition season

Varsity cheer team completing a stunt at the last away game during football season. Most of the girls from the fall season enter competition cheer during the winter.

Kelly Morris is Taft Union High School’s football and competition cheer coach. Morris has been coaching for 9 years, she also coached for JFL. She said the competition season,”Is looking good; she is excited for all of the girls that came out. There are many tumblers.” There are 17 girls on competition squad and 6 on the basketball cheer team. Morris was asked if she enjoyed coaching; she replied, “I love it; that’s why I’ve been doing it for so many years.”
