Varsity players took their picture at the end of the Fowler Tournament. They posed with their 2nd place trophy.

The girls’ varsity soccer team is coached by Ryan Hickman and Steve Fitzsimmons. The girls started their season with a scrimmage at Mira Monte on Nov. 13. Hickman said, “The season is off to a good start. The scrimmage against Mira Monte allowed us to see where we were at fitness and personnel-wise. It was a nice warm-up going into the Fowler Tournament last week. We have a strong team and look to compete for an SSL championship this season.” Izabella Nuncio scored a point during the second half of the game. She said, “I feel like the season so far is going good, we’re learning how to play as a team. I look forward to winning league with my team.” The scrimmage ended with a tied score of 1-1.

On Nov. 28, they started their Fowler Tournament. They were tied 1-1 and the following day they tied 4-4. The varsity players moved up in the tournament and continued on Saturday, Dec.1. They ended the Fowler Tournament with a score of 1-3 and getting second place. Hickman said, “The tournament went well, although we were running on empty toward the end. Traveling a total of 18 hours in a bus over 4 days didn’t help. However, we battled to a 2nd place finish, falling just short in the title game versus Fowler.”
