In golf, every stroke counts
It was a very glum turnout for the Wildcats on their home course. The girls played their best, but it wasn’t good enough to beat the Drillers. Wildcats took their first loss by one stroke to BHS on the afternoon of Oct. 1, but that loss does not set their first place title back because this match didn’t count toward their league record. Both coaches remind the players every day that every putt counts, so players try not to over putt on the green too much, which Isabella Martinez knows all too well. “One chip, two putts is what we’re looking for, kids,” as Coach Cowan likes to say. Coaches have been practicing putting drills and how to determine the high and low misses.
