On Fri., Sept. 21, Taft Union High School’s cross country team went to the Kern County Soccer Park and ran three miles. The girls’ cross country team went first and finished strong. They don’t normally do a three-mile race. When all the girls finished, the boys’ cross country team started. Chase Cortez placed 51 in the whole race. He ran his hardest and was the first runner out of the Taft High boys to cross the finish in the race.
