JV Lady ‘Cats defeat Frazier Mountain

Thursday, Aug. 30, Taft Union High School’s JV volleyball team came out on top with a 2-0 victory against Frazier Mountain, Megan Brown, No. 19 set the tone early acing twice in a row. The Lady ‘Cats kept around a 4-point cushion for most of the game. Cora Rowland, brought up the intensity by having a huge spike, which lead to them winning the first set 25-19.  This gave them a 1-0 lead over Frazier Mountain. The second set started off a little rocky for the JV girls with Frazier Mountain taking a 5-3 lead. Cora Rowland, had a strong spike to tie it up, which led to the Wildcats maintaining a 4-point lead once again. Emma Waldrop, had an important block to put them up 16-14. Taft High won the second set 25-21 after a faulty serve from the opposing team. Lady ‘Cats beat Frazier Mountain 2-0.
