Senior captain, Brooklyn Yaws, pumps up her teammates before the start of the new inning.

Last Tuesday, The Wildcats played the Thunderbirds at home. At the start of the game, the Wildcats showed a display of great defense against the Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds could not score against Taft. However, Taft’s offense was a different story. Taft scored a high number of 14 runs in the first inning. In the second inning, the Thunderbirds still could not manage to score. Taft once again took the offensive lead, as they scored another 6 runs. At the end of the second inning, the score was 20-0. Taft held the lead the whole entire game. The final score was 29-0 in favor of Taft.

The following Thursday, Taft played long-time rivals Bakersfield Christian. Taft took the offensive lead, as they scored the very first run of the game. When Bakersfield Christian got their offensive opportunity, Taft shut them down by playing great defense. The next inning, neither Taft nor Bakersfield Christian could manage to score on each other. In the third inning, the Eagles scored a run and tied Taft 1-1. Taft would not accept this, though, as they scored 4 runs in the following inning. The very next inning, the Eagles scored another run. This started an offensive trend for the Eagles, as they managed to get three more runners on base. However, even though they had runners on bases, they could not manage to bring them in. The final score of the game was 11-2 in favor of Taft.
