On Tuesday, Jan. 16, the girls’ basketball team had a game against longtime rival and league opponent, Shafter. The freshman team played with a fierce competitive nature throughout the whole game. Unfortunately, however, the Shafter girls came with the same competitive mentality and ended up beating the Wildcats by four points. The final score was 16-20. The J.V. team completely destroyed Shafter, ending the game with a score of 50-27. They stayed ahead of Shafter throughout each quarter, and continue to be undefeated. The varsity team lost to Shafter with a 42-63 score by the end of the final quarter. The girls’ basketball team ranks 8,876 nationally, 673 in state, 120 in state division, and 11 in their section division.
