Tuesday, October 17th, Taft High Ladycat Volleyball seniors experienced their very last home volleyball game as Wildcats. The players shed tears and applause was given by the crowd as the seniors’ names were announced over the speakers. It was a very emotional and memorable night as the Ladycats began by handing out roses to their chosen recipients. The Ladycats then put their game faces on and began to warm up for their final home game against Cesar Chavez.

The Lady Wildcats had a rocky start, as Cesar Chavez gained an early lead of 4-1. The Ladycats then showed their determination and snatched the lead away from Chavez with the score at 8-4. From this point on, the Ladycats were almost impossible to stop with explosive back-to-back kills from Taft High seniors Alyssa Reeves and Sarah Lopez. The Ladycats did not show signs of slowing down as they won the set 25-13. The second set mirrored the first set as the Ladycats won 25-19. Although the Taft High Ladycats won the second set, they allowed six more points to be scored against them. The third set was a battle as the Wildcats fought virtually the whole way in order to maintain their lead over Chavez. It was not an easy win, but the Lady Wildcats eventually ended the memorable night with their final set win of 25-20.
