Girls Golf takes 2nd

Daisy Rosales hitting a drive straight down the fairway.

The TUHS Girls Golf Team finished in second place once again, only 21 strokes behind Bakersfield Christian, in our fourth league match of the season at Delano Municipal Golf Course (par 32). To illustrate how close that is, we are only 4.2 strokes per player behind the perennial league champions.  The girls continue to improve in terms mechanics and course management, and are making quality contact on a much larger percentage of their swings.  Their shot selection and decision making are improving, and every player on our team is able to work her way around the golf course with no help from the coaches.

Player of the match is Freshman Chloe Dodson! Dodson surprised herself by qualifying for yesterday’s match on Wednesday (nine girls playing for four spots), and continued her very solid play yesterday with a 60.  First time players at Delano Municipal usually shoot in the very high 60s or even low 70s, so the score of 60 is fantastic and contributed to our competitive finish against BCHS.  Congratulations to Chloe for showing that dedication and persistence pay off in the long run.
