Taft Lady Wildcats Continue to Dominate
The Taft Varsity Volleyball team has demonstrated their dominance once again. Last night, the Taft Wildcats played the Shafter Generals. Taft went into this game with an overall league score of 1-1. The first set started off in favor of the Wildcats as Sarah Lopez had the first two kills of the game. The Varsity girls then spared no time and immediately went on a scoring spree. The score was 7-0 before the Generals managed to score a single point. With the score being 7-1, the Lady ‘Cats did not allow any more points until they had scored 12.
The Lady ‘Cats then continued on to win the first set with the score of 25-11. The second set followed the path of the first set with the Lady ‘Cats winning 25-10. However, the Lady ‘Cats actually allowed fewer points against them the second set than they did the first. The third set started off a little tremulous, as the Generals pulled ahead 4-0. The Wildcats continued to battle with the Generals until the score was tied at 12-12. After that, the ‘Cats went point for point with the Generals until the final score in the third set was 25-21. The Wildcats ended the night with a 3-0 sweep.
Overall, the Taft Lady ‘Cats have been playing with intensity and focus. Taft’s overall record is 17-1-1. League has just begun and our Lady ‘Cats have already been showing the hard work and dedication that they have put into the 2017-2018 season.
