TUHS musicians and singers ready to bring in the holidays

Taft Union High School musicians and singers are busy preparing for the upcoming performances on Dec. 11 and Dec. 14. Two holiday concerts will be performed for the public filled with Christmas music for everyone to enjoy.

The concert band, jazz band, and string orchestra will perform on Tues., Dec. 11 in the TUHS auditorium at 7:00 p.m. “This year’s Christmas concert will be a celebration of the holiday classic ‘Silent Night.’ The song was first performed 200 years ago on Christmas Eve. We are honored to play it for our family and friends.” said Amanda Posey, the TUHS instrumental music director.

On Fri., Dec. 14, the TUHS choir will have a concert at the First Baptist Church located at 220 North Street at 7:00 p.m. The concert will include songs, such as: “Carol of the Bells,” “Wexford Carol,” “What Child is This?” and “Cunti Simus.” The choir is conducted by Mr. Aaron Mosley and accompanied by Trisha Wise. Mosley remarked, “I feel like the concert is going to be something special. Our students are working hard and they get better each day.”

Come celebrate the season with holiday music from the TUHS students.
