Tom White uses the simulator to teach Christian Burleson to control the situation.

Taft Union High School’s law enforcement teacher, Tom White, has found a new way to teach his students in a safe and controlled environment. He has started and executed a successful simulator program for his students. It is the mixture of a powerpoint and a video game. “It teaches the students the verbal skills needed in a hostile situation–in a controlled environment,” Tom White stated. This simulator has helped Mr. White place students in real-life scenarios to teach them the basics of law enforcement; it can also teach students how to defend against any weapon from a crossbow to a knife.
