Taft High’s Trap Club continues to expand and advance through the 2017-18 school year.  Coletin Hamblin, Franky Rosche, Skyler Freeman, Andrew Phillips, Ricky Collins, Quentin Copeland, Hunter Barton, Darin White, Albert Romo, Gregory Ramirez, and Cooper McCaleb are the members that make up this club. On Tuesdays, they shoot trap to prepare for future events. The members of Trap Club attend between three and five clay shoots a year on Saturdays.

When they shoot sporting clays, there are 100 clay pigeons in a shoot, and the shooters use a gun, safety glasses, and ear protection when shooting. Advisors, Sarah Hamblin and Gary Morris, took themselves and their club members to a competition this month, sponsored by Temblor Ranch and the Taft Sportsmen’s Club. There were over 200 people there. It was the first time shooting at a clay event for a few of the members.  After the shoot, the club enjoyed a steak lunch together.
