Heat Wave No More

Back to School Night

After the past couple of weeks with temperatures staying over 100 degrees (even some reaching over 110), Taft High athletes are happy to see fall setting in and temperatures dropping.

Last week, afternoon indoor and outdoor practices were cancelled, along with games and tournaments. The football team has been practicing before school in order to beat the heat, setting them up for little sleep and long days following.

This week the temperature will hit a high of 97 degrees and will stay below that for the rest of the year. Humidity, however, is something to be aware of these next couple of months when storm clouds roll in during the descend of our heat wave. Expect all of TUHS sports this week, including a home football game on Friday against Porterville, and a thunderstorm on Sunday to bring in the start of fall!
