All TUHS seniors recently attended an assembly where counselor,  Tammy Sutherland, and principal, Mary Alice Finn explained the schedule of upcoming activities for seniors. The graduation ceremony on June 5 will be the final culmination of the upcoming events.

“All seniors were sent the ‘Road to Graduation’ packet via email” said Sutherland. Students should check that document for important dates and deadlines.

The last day to pick up local scholarship packets was Feb. 8. The deadline for turning in the scholarship packet and forms is Feb. 15 at 3:30 p.m.

“Grad Nite” at Disneyland is an opportunity to celebrate the upcoming graduation. The celebration will be from May 31-June 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. The cost for attending is $150 and students can purchase tickets in the student store. Permission slips are required for all students. The deadline for purchasing tickets is March 22. No refunds will be given for tickets if students are unable to attend.

Honors Night will be held April 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Students will wear graduation gowns and dressy dance attire. This is the night that local scholarships will be awarded to students and the community is invited to celebrate their accomplishments.

Tough Guy Volleyball is April 10 at 7:00 p.m. The senior boys will play volleyball and the girls will be the coaches. This event was moved from the fall in recent years and is now a part of Spring Fling Week.

Mock Rock will be another part of the week before Spring Break with a community performance on April 11 in the evening and a student performance on April 12 before dismissing for Spring Break April 13-23.

The Luau has been moved to April this year and will take place on April 26. Prom will now be on May 18.

May 30 will be the last day for seniors to take final exams and the school will hold a rally that has become a tradition called, “Oh! The Places You’ll Go,” based on the Dr. Seuss book. This is an opportunity to recognize seniors and showcases where they plan to go after graduation, whether it be college, vocational school, or the military.

June 3 is the senior pool party and barbecue as well as Senior Sunset. The Senior Breakfast takes place June 4 where students can expect awards, graduation information, a motivational speaker, and an opportunity to sign yearbooks.

Mandatory graduation practice is June 5 at 8:00 a.m. and the graduation ceremony is at 8:00 p.m.
