Taft High Musicians Score Spots in Honor Band and Orchestra
Honor Band and Orchestra participants Ricky Posey, Dennis Posey, Tanner Ashmore, Taylor Reed, Kylie Campbell, Luis Moncada, Raygan Wescott, and Nathaniel Morris
Eight students will represent Taft High in the Kern County Honor Band and Orchestra. Ten students auditioned for the prestigious performance and the following students will be part of the performance at the Rabobank Arena in January:
Band:
Raygan Wescott (clarinet), Dennis Posey (alto sax), Taylor Reed (trumpet), Kylie Campbell (trumpet), Luis Moncada (trumpet), Tanner Ashmore (percussion)
Orchestra:
Nathaniel Morris (bassoon) and Ricky Posey (tuba)
Conductors from colleges and universities around the country usually conduct this group and rehearsals begin soon. The students will also perform on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Taft High Auditorium as part of the Instrumental Christmas Concert.
