Taft High has hired a new Campus Resource Officer through a contract with the Kern County Sheriff’s Department. He is a former student and someone who cares about the community. Deputy Joe Gregory will also help improve response time in an emergency.  

Gregory is a former Wildcat. He said, “I went to high school here. I graduated here. I’m a local boy from here…I’m very proud to be a Wildcat.” When asked what it means for him to work for the school, Gregory responded, saying, “It means I get to give back to the community that gave me the same opportunities.” With regard to our campus safety, Gregory gave his opinion with the response, “I don’t think Taft (High) is a dangerous campus.”

Gregory’s office is located inside the Attendance Office.
