Confirmation was received yesterday that Kelsey Meadows, Taft Union High School District graduate and substitute, was among those fatally injured at the Las Vegas Harvest Festival concert.  Kelsey Meadows graduated from Taft Union High School in 2007 and later earned a Bachelor’s degree from Fresno State University.  She returned to the Taft community and served as a regular substitute for Taft Union High School District since 2012.  “Kelsey was smart, compassionate and kind. She had a sweet spirit and a love for children”, said Taft Union High School principal, Mary Alice Finn.  “Words cannot adequately capture the sorrow felt by her students, colleagues and friends in learning of her passing”.  Kelsey leaves behind her mother Stacy, TUHSD IT Manager, her father Greg, brother, Brad and sister-in-law , Jessica, along with an entire community that loved and respected her.   TUHSD will have grief counselors available to students and staff to assist in coping with the incomprehensible loss.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 7th at the West Side Recreation and Park District Gymnasium at 11:00 a.m. Kelsey didn’t like dressing up, so the family is requesting that everyone wear jeans and blue, any Broncos attire, or just casual dress.
