Last Friday, Club Rush and a carnival welcomed students for a new year at Taft Union High School. Live music provided by the school band, along with snow cones and various games were all components of the event that lasted two periods of the day.Gusher Staff
Not only did this celebration commemorate all of the students returning for another glorious year, but incoming freshman as well. “Attending a new school can be a very stressful and fearful experience,” mentions Kilie Odle, who wasn’t fortunate enough to experience a Week of Welcome when she was a freshman.
Teachers, as well as Taft High students participated in the running of games, such as Pop the Balloon and Softball Toss. Taft College also had a booth to inform students on after-highschool possibilities. Various Taft High clubs also had booths set up to invite others to join.
The carnival informed new students about the possibilities of involvement within the community and the school.
