On Monday, April 1, 2019,  the Taft High choir held their Spring Choir Concert. It was held at the Taft Area Transit building by the Taft Oil Monument.

Taft High choir teacher, Aaron Mosley, was the director with Trish Wise as the accompanist. Their spring concert was a “send off” for both the intermediate and advanced choir.

The following day they competed in the choral competition that was hosted by Southern CA Vocal Association. The concert was open to the public to gain a glimpse of what our Taft High choir took to the competition. The intermediate and advanced choir sang three songs each. Our intermediate choir, an all-girls choir, started the concert by singing, “Jubilate Deo,” by V. Courtney then continued on with, “Romance,” by C. Debussy and ended with, “J’entends Le Moulin,” by E. Crocker. Soon after the intermediate choir, the advanced choir performed their three songs. They started with, “The Pasture,” by Z. Randall Stroope followed by, “Daemon Irrepit Callidus,” by G. Orban.

Before the advanced choir sang their last song, Mosley said, “Thank you to the parents and community for coming out to hear our performance.” They ended the choir concert with, “Erev Shel Shoshanim,” by Klebanow/Hadar. The following day, both choirs won and “excellent” rating in the choral competition.
