Chavira cooks up a culinary club

Foods teacher Carlos Chavira introduces Taft High to a Culinary Club. Chavira has always had a passion for cooking. When asked about his inspiration for the club, Chavira said he wanted, “to teach students how to better interact with each other and the community.” Chavira’s goal is “to teach the students quality working ethics”. During the football game Friday, Aug. 24, Chavira held a fundraiser for the FCCLA Club; Students prepared and sold tacos, nachos, and churros. Chavira said, “The students interacted with the community, practiced food safety and learned the value of working with each other.” We are excited to see what the FCCLA Club has in store for the 2018-19 school year.
