The Rotary Club of Taft puts on a Youth Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast for the benefit of Youth Groups twice a year. The first breakfast is in February or March and the second takes place in September.  Rotary enjoys putting on the breakfast and takes on all costs. Youth groups from all over the Taft area can participate and receive 100% of the funds. Tickets are $5.00 each, so for clubs participating this can add up to big bucks for their clubs! Youth Groups include school sponsored groups, sports clubs, academic clubs, basically any group of youth that gathers for a good cause. The only thing that Rotary asks is that there be a responsible adult leader for the group.

They have had a ton of participation in the past including but not limited to:  JFL Football, TUHS and Lincoln Cheerleaders, TUHS Interact, TUHS Journalism, and many church groups. Another great thing about the Youth Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast is that it serves as a place for TUHS students to get their volunteer hours in. The hours for the breakfast is from 7:00am-11:00am. Youth who sign up prior to each breakfast can volunteer from 6:30am-12:00pm. If groups are interested in participating, they can contact Tina Leikam at 623-1670 or their favorite Rotarian.

This year, the Rotary Club helped our campus clubs by holding two breakfasts and this was beneficial to many students.  For example, the TUHS Journalism Club was able to raise enough money, with the two breakfasts, to purchase shirts for each student in the club. Mr. Morris distributes the tickets, upon request, and collects the money on campus. This is a big help to youth organizations who may have difficulty raising funds.
